Dragons, Brains and playtesting!

What's going on everyone!?

Today for the GaD challenge, one of the games we played was a playtest copy so I'm not entirely sure if it's cool that I shared it. That being said, I included a blurred photo of it just in case because I wanted to keep record of it even if I couldn't mention the title! :)

First up was the mystery game and we had a blast playing it! I can't wait to tell you more about it but for now all I can really say is that my lovely wife won and my beautiful daughter took second!

Because we were running out of time this evening we played some Zombie Dice! Again, my lovely wife won with an amazing perfect roll on her second try and again, Trinity placed second! I ended up with last yet again, lol!

Last up was one that I played solo this evening. I'm happy to report that I got to a personal best of 42 for the night all on a single life!

Gone Fishin'!

What's going on everyone!?

I had a bit of a busy day filled with games and some working on my new lights for recording videos! Today for the GaD challenge I got two great games to the table and as usual, yours truly didn't win, lol!

Because dear ol' pops was heading home today we got a game of Coldwater Crown in first thing this morning and man is this game just beautiful! I obviously didn't win but it was a great session and a CLOSE game!

Next up was Alhambra and it was a blast as well! It ended up being a VERY close game the entire time but in the end Trinity won!

As always, thank you very much for reading and don't forget to stop and smell the meeples! :)

Wonders and Busters!

What's going on everyone!

Today I spent some time working on some new lighting for the videos the better part of the day. Later on in the evening we got to play Unearth which is a great dice placement game and Dungeon Busters!

Unearth is a great time every time it hits the table. Tonight, Trinity ended up walking away with the win over all of us!

Next up we played some Dungeon Busters as requested by Trinity last night. It was yet another wonderful time spent with family and in the end, Trinity won this one as well!

Hanging out with Miners!

What's going on everyone!?

Today for the GaD challenge there was a mining theme and it was fun! We had recently purchased Quartz so we were eager to get that one to the table. After we played that one I figured a good follow up that didn't take a lot of time would be Dragonstone Mine!

First up was Quartz as I mentioned and it was a blast to play! ( HA! See what I did there!?! :P ) As usual I came in last but it really was fun so I didn't mind.

Next up was Dragonstone Mine which is another wonderful game with the same theme in mind. It almost reminds me of a lighter version of Quartz in a way. As with the recurring theme this evening, I also lost this game by placing last again so all was right in the universe, lol!

Levelling up my train!

What's going on everyone!?

Today was another busy day of filming reviews but after I had a few recorded after dinner and ready for editing it was time to play some games! Today for the GaD challenge my beautiful daughter, dear ol' pops and I played some Super Mario Level Up and Train Maker!

First up was Super Mario Level Up! which was a great time and many of laughs were made. In the end, it turns out that dear ol' pops was the winner with Trinity coming in second!

Next up was Train Maker which is one of our FAVORITE dice games. I was having so much fun witht the game that I nearly forgot to take a picture! Just one turn after this Trinity had won the game!

Taking it easy in the Swamp!

What's going on everyone!?

I've been doing some work with my youtube channel today because of the new requirements they're doing for the monetization which really sucks for beginners and smaller content creators. On top of that I've also been working on my Patreon Page to get ready to start doing SOME content for patrons exclusively.

Now don't worry, if you're not a fan of Patreon I'm still going to be doing my reviews and #2xgameaday2018 posts for free. But it may be something to check into. Not only will you be able to show your support directly, you will also be able to get into some exclusive giveaways and such for patrons.

I'm not all about the money but since this is the profession I've chosen I do need to try and generate funds to help support what I'm doing with equipment and other things.

Ok, so now that I've got that out of the way! :P

Today for the GaD challenge my lovely wife, beautiful daughter and I played some Take It Easy and Swamped!

First up was Take It Easy! and it was a blast! We have the Daphodile Edition thanks to Peter Burley himself so that's why it may look a little different but man is this board fun! In the end, my lovely wife won with 14 more points!

Next up was a game I've only played maybe ONCE. I've been dying to actually play a session of this with my family for over a year now and tonight seemed like the perfect night! This game is FUN! So fun I want to play again just writing about it! I can't believe it took this long to play it but it was soo worth the wait!

Chopsticks and Colors!

What's going on everyone!?

Today for the GaD challenge my lovely wife, beautiful daughter and I played some Jenga and CDMC 3000!

First up was Throw 'n Go Jenga which my daughter picked up from the thrift shop yesterday. It was an interesting twist to the way it's played and in probably my favorite one if I HAVE to play Jenga, lol. I ended up losing of course but that was to be expected now wasn't it! :P

Next up we played Chopstick Dexterity Mega Challenge 3000 as requested by Trinity. It was a fun and quick game which was a little difficult for her because she wasn't so well with the chopsticks but she played through and ended up winning anyways!

I have also added 4 new video reviews which you can find in the "Reviews" secion of the blog. So be sure to go check those out!

Rabbits, Birds and Space, Oh My!

What's going on everyone!?

Today started out a little later than I would have liked but with the back not feeling too hot I decided to remain in bed a little longer than normal. Later on in the day I took my beautiful daughter to the local thrift shop so she could spend some of her savings and we came home with a couple older board games. Only one of which is pictured mind you, that would be Angry Birds!

From that point on we had quite the day of gaming!

So the first game we had to try out was Angry Birds as that was the one she was most excited for. It was easy to understand and the building was challenging but all in all the game was fun. She ended up winning by getting to 1,000 and me at 800!

Next up was a more childish game called Jumping Jack. It was a simple game of spinning and pulling carrots until the rabbit jumped up from the center. My beautiful daughter won 2 but not before my lovely wife won 1. Take a look at this epic catch in motion as the rabbit JUMPED from the mound!

After that we played Lift Off: Get me off this planet! and had a wonderful time as usual with this hit from Pencil 1st Games. In the end, my lovely wife got all of her alieneeples off the planet before it exploded while my beautiful daughter and I had some little guys left behind.  :'(

And last up for the day my lovely wife and I played a game of Star Realms! As usual, she ended up kicking my butt and making me feel like I was winning when I was actually losing!

400th post!

What's going on everyone!?

WOW! It's been a LONG day. A rewarding one but MAN was it a long day! Back on Friday, we broke a brake line on our car, just before getting our first "real" snow for the winter. After wondering what in the world we were going to do I had two friends help us out financially so I could get the parts to fix the car!

After HOURS of getting the line repaired and freezing my butt off my beautiful daughter and I got it finished... But not out of the woods yet, she accidentally killed the battery in the car because she kept it fully switched on instead of just on accessory. I was able to get a neighbor to jump the car for me and I was off to get gas and a couple of things from the grocery store for dinner.

When I got back I had to start on dinner. By this time it was already getting dark outside and I knew I STILL hadn't played any games yet like I had planned. After cooking some home made chicken teriyaki stir fry and eating for the first time today I headed BACK into the kitchen and cleaned up the mess from cooking and swept the floor (again from the mess of me cooking) and got the table cleaned up and ready for gaming!

Once THAT was finished I made a cup of tea and tried to help my lovely wife get Zelda to sleep because she had not taken a nap ALL day and was now crying hysterically because she was over tired. After my fail-proof methods for getting her to sleep failed, Trinity took her and actually got her to sleep so I could play two games for the night!

Which brings us to now. Had I remembered that this was going to be my 400th post I would have played some more memorable games for the occasion but alas, I think today was memorable enough, lol.

So today for the GaD challenge I had no real choice but to pick two games that are pretty quick but still fun of course!

My lovely wife ended up killing me in Lost Cities with the scores being somewhere around 245 to 168!!! Still yet, this is one of those great two player games that can be played as a single round or multiple rounds and adding your scores up and I always love getting this one to the table.

Next up was a bit of an older game called Shut the Box. In this game you simply roll 2 dice and shut numbers by covering them up. It's sort of a FORCED press your luck game because you have to keep going until you roll numbers you can shut.

Since this game goes VERY fast we were able to play 2 out of 3 within 5 minutes which I had actually won!

As you can see, this was a very long day as I had mentioned and it was all ending with some fun short games being played with my lovely wife. When I get to end days by playing a game with my family the wait to get there is always worth it.

Now if you'll all excuse me, I must go grab a shower before bed and get this rust outta my ears and off my head!

Carcass and Bones!

What's going on everyone!?

Today was a bit of a hectic day because of the weather. My lovely wife ended up having to work a double due to snow. This meant I got to spend all day with my daughters and dear ol' pops!

Later in the evening, when everything settled down Dear ol' pops and I played some quick games with a nautical theme!

First up was Captain Carcass which is a fun little press your luck, set collection card game. For some reason the game didn't seem to like Dear ol' pops that much which meant I got a rather easy win.

Next up we played Buccaneer Bones which is an easy little press your luck dice game. This one seemed to LOVE Dear ol' pops because he killed it at this one and got the win!

Dungeons and Kaiju!

Hmmm, that title could actually work... I wouldn't mind playing a game with that name! :P

What's going on everyone!?

Tonight was a night of some Kaiju Fighting and Dungeon Delving!

First up was Kaiju Crush which is an area control game at it's heart and it does it well! As the game went on, lady luck was NOT on my side as every time I tried to battle anyone of my oponents I ALWAYS LOST! In the end, it was a wonderful game and I'm happy to say that my dear ol' pops won!

After that game everyone had gotten up from the table and left the room. (I mean HELLO! We've been playing TWO games a night and yet this STILL hasn't sunk in! LOL!) In all seriousness though, it's not THEIR challenge.

Keeping that in mind I pulled out a game that I simply LOVE for solo play called Fire of Eidolon! It's a GREAT dungeon delver for 1 - 6 players and can be played in 30 minutes or less once the cards start flying. Thankfully, I didn't have to deal with getting beat by a game since I played this one alone but I BARELY won!

War is Hell!

What's going on everyone!?

Today for the GaD Challenge I wanted to get some games to the table that we've played before but never got a chance to play 4 players with. There are a few of them really, but tonight it was time for HOTSHOTS and WINDUP WAR to hit the table!

First up was HOTSHOTS which is a very fun Co-op game that is a press your luck dice rolling game with a forest fire theme. I'm happy to report that we all actually WON!!! :D

Next up was WINDUP WAR which is a card programming style game where things happen simultaneously! It's a fun and exciting battle against everyone to see who can get a predetermined amount of points first and take the win. Surprisingly, that was me!

Dragons Loot!

What's going on everyone!?

Today was a great day and a good day for gaming! Unfortunately, our refridgerator stopped working so we had to get a replacement from the landlord asap. This lead to a quick dinner and a long evening.

Because of this there wasn't much time to play a hearty game this evening like I had planned so I opted for two small box games with a dragon theme!

First up was Munchkin Loot Letter, a very quick game to get us in the gaming mindset. After 3 tense rounds, surprisingly, I won 2 out of 3!

Next up was Dragon Slayer Dice Game and the dragons were NOT very nice to me, lol. As the game went on my beutiful daughter took a massive lead and ended up winning the game! I couldn't be more proud of her!

Even small box games can fit in for even the busiest of gamers! I can't wait to show you more of them as the time goes on. :)

Cthulhu was his name-o!

What's going on everyone!?

Tonight for the "GaD" Challenge my lovely wife, beautiful daughter and I played 2 games that were VERY different from each other... In a good way of course! :)

We started off with Bingo Link which is a fun little I Spy meets Bingo game in which you have to try to connect a line from a color on one side of the board to the same color on the opposite side of the board. My lovely wife ended up winning 2 out of three and my beautiful daughter had a win as well!

Next up we played a quick game of Lost in R'lyeh. This one is a blast to play with 2 - 4 players so if you've not tried it out I highly suggest it. Surprisingly I ended up with the win but just by a SINGLE card!

Cats, Houses and Spaaaaace!

What's going on everyone!?

Today for the "GaD" Challenge my lovely wife, beautiful daughter and I got some more fireside fun to the table as well as a great little card game that I had the pleasure of being part of called Alienation!

First up was Here, Kitty, Kitty! which is a very fun little set collection style game. As the game went on it was apparent that I already knew who was going to win... My lovely wife of course! :P

Next up was a great card game called Alienation. This one is also a set collection style game and is simply a blast to play. Although I thought I had this game won, my beautiful daughter ended up stealing the win!

Things that go GRR!

What's going on everyone!?

Today for the GaD Challenge I got the family together to play BEARS! and 3 to 4 Headed Monster. The reason for choosing these two for the evening is that although I LOVE playing board games, sometimes we're just drained with the addition of a new gamer to the family. So these quick games get a lot of play and are VERY convenient as well.

Not to mention, they're just FUN!

First up was BEARS! which is a fast paced dice game that is always a blast to play. My lovely wife ended up winning this one with a huge score in one round to put her in the lead!

Next up was a fun little card game called 3 to 4 Headed monster which my beautiful daughter ended up winning!

Tonight was just a quick gaming session but to be honest, the length of time spent isn't what matters. It's the company in which you get to spend it with. :)
